President Buhari Not Sound in Economy, Foreign Affairs - Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says President Muhammadu Buhari may not do well in economy and foreign affairs, except in military matters.

“Buhari is not a very hot person on the economy and foreign affairs,” Obasanjo said.

The former President stated this on Monday at the third International Conference on African Development Issues, themed, “Driving inclusive and sustainable development in Africa: Models, methods and policies”, organised by Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State.

While reacting to a question posed to him by a member of the audience Obasanjo said: “I will tell you what I know and I will tell you what I don’t know. I know Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. He served under me in the military. His characteristics that I know, his behaviour that I know, he has not deviated from them. He was never a perfect man, he is not a perfect man and no leader can ever be a perfect man because they are human beings. But if you read my book, what I said about him is correct. He is not a hot person when it comes to economy. He is not a very hot person when it comes to foreign affairs. But he will do well in matters of military and he will do well in fighting Boko Haram.”

The former president also said he tried his best in fighting corruption, especially in the recovery of funds looted by the late Gen. Sani Abacha and that as of the time he left the government, about $1bn was still to be recovered.

Learn how to make money online within an hour

Image result for want to make money online

You belong to a unique breed

There are so many lucrative opportunities out there waiting for someone to profit from them. So
why aren’t they being exploited?

Others aren’t even thinking the way you are. The fact that you got to this article already puts you
ahead of the rest and in the few percent that are actually looking to better their situation.

Some are creatures of habit that enjoy their comfort zone. Others are simply afraid, preferring to
play it safe by putting their money in the bank or some savings program that will give them a few
measly percent interest a year. There’s nothing wrong with a steady long term investment, so long as
you understand that the money it will make you barely covers the rate of inflation.

Diversify your investment portfolio

Spread out your money, don’t put all your eggs in one basket so to speak. Gather a bunch of
different equities that you know and trust, and put them together to build your own investment portfolio.

What’s your budget?

It all depends on how much you can put aside. If there is no limit, real estate would probably be your
best choice. If you have a couple of hundred saved up, it is enough to invest on your own with
online trading companies. These financial markets will be your best option in terms of return
on investment.

Save time and money, go online

You don’t have to be rich! In the late 90’s the online markets opened up to the world. Now you don’t
need a broker, a license, or even a lot of money. Any device with an internet connection can be
your golden ticket. The "down side" so to speak is learning to use it and trade on your own.
The plus obviously is saving yourself all the account management fees and transaction commissions.

Don’t get emotional

This means not only to know when to bail out and cut your losses to minimize damages, but also to
set a certain profit limit. This is business, and you’re in it for the money. Never let your feelings or
ego get in the way. Online trading platforms offer take profit and stop-loss automated mechanisms
that make the process a lot simpler and don’t allow room for human error.

Risk can be good, as long as you’re in control

We are all familiar with the saying “no risk, no reward”. Well that’s pretty much the case for investors
of all kinds. Usually, the higher the risk, the higher the marginal profits. A volatile market is a risky
one, but it also bears the highest profit potential. Keep this in mind when building your portfolio.

Span the markets

So we already established the understanding that online financial market investing is a
non-time consuming way to increase your capital. But which market is best? Where can you
make the most with the least?
The answer is simple, there isn’t one market that’s better than others. The opportunities are
everywhere, you just have to know what to look for.

Keep your eyes and ears open

Basically, any drastic change in value is the ideal place to make a score. Follow trends, read the
news, listen to financial programs and investor podcasts. The best is to pick a certain market,
follow a select number of assets, and like a hunter stalking his prey, wait patiently for the right
moment to strike.

Hope this information was useful and inspiring. Now go out there and make some money!

PENGASSAN, NUPENG Applaud FG on Petrol Subsidy Removal

Image result for PENGASSAN, NUPENG Applaud FG on Petrol Subsidy Removal
The Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) have applauded the Federal Government’s decision to scrap subsidy on petrol.
They made their positions known on Friday at a press conference they held at the end of the joint national executive council (NEC) meeting of the PENGASSAN and NUPENG at the Transcorp Hotel in Calabar.
National President of NUPENG, Comrade Igwe Achese, who addressed journalists on behalf of both bodies, described the federal government’s   decision as a courageous policy that was long overdue.
The emphasised that the removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government is a bold decision directed towards the final elimination of the corrupt activities of a small cabal that has held the nation to ransom for a decades.
“The deregulation of the sector is what we have been agitating for, for the past eight years or more. But each time we want to react, Nigerians want to live on the bedrock of lies. And that has been our problem. We have been living on the bedrock of lies. Successive governments come in, what we hear are full of lies. The oil and gas sector must have transparency and it is only when it is transparent that the nation’s economy will beginning to grown and job opportunities would be created.
“For us our clear position is that the deregulation of the sector and opening of the market is a welcome development. Someone ask me about the price whether it is not too high and I say the price is a secondary issue. The most important thing is that government has come up with a firm stand that would stop payment of subsidy into the hands of few Nigerians. That is the first thing Nigerians must appreciate. It was tried by the past administration and I know what happened. It was politicised. Some members of the political lines took over these issues as if it was their bed right to continue milking the nation’s purse.
“It is clear that we must deregulate and stop payment of subsidies into the hands of few Nigerians. We must not mortgage the nation’s economy into the hands of few Nigerians. We must open up the system and see how we can now talk about regulation.  The key fundamental issue in the issue of this price modulation is regulation. And putting in place the necessary checks and balances that can control the price environment as it is,” Achase said.

DICON to Produce APCs this Year

By Senator Iroegbu in Abuja
The  Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) has complied  with the Federal Government’s approval of the establishment of Public Private Partnership (PPP) Units in Federal Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs) to drive industrial development and produce Armoured Personnel Carrier (APCs) before the end of this year.
To this end, the Director-General of DICON, Maj-Gen Bamidele Ogunkale, has officially inaugurated PPP Unit at the Corporation Headquarters with the support of Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) that organised a two-day training programme before its take-off.
In a statement on Friday by the DICON Public Relations Officer, Maj. Emmanuel Adeniyi, Ogunkale requested for approval to execute a Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) between the agency and PROFORCE Limited for joint designing and producing APCs for the armed forces and other agencies.
This, according to him, was a followup to the agreement reached at the 97th DICON Board meeting held at the headquarters, Kaduna, early this year.
He recalled that the Board had directed that all proposed JVAs should be forwarded to the ICRC for its technical input and in line with due process which dovetailed into the recent training programme packaged to broaden the horizon of DICON Management staff on PPP matters.
He further disclosed that the Chairman of DICON Board, Amb. Danjuma Sheni had earlier drawn  the attention of the Corporation to a Circular which directed that PPP Units be established in the MDAs, adding that the recent inauguration was in compliance to that directive.
Ogunkale also explained that he invited the PROFORCE Chief Executive Officers to be part of the training package as the arrangement to partner with them had gone beyond secondary level, stressing that “before the year runs out I am optimistic that some APCs must have been rolled out”.

Image result for Dangote's New Tomato Factory Suspends OperationsThe Dangote Tomato Processing Factory in Kadawa, Kano State, has suspended productions, following a freeze of raw materials supply, its Managing Director, Alhaji Abdulkadir Kaita, said.

The plant, which commenced production in February, had stopped production because there was no fresh tomatoes to process.
